The West Course at Wentworth needs no introduction and very few courses can boast a tournament history on a par with Wentworth’s West Course.
The West Course is about aspiration and inspiration. Golfers tread in the footsteps of the game’s great players from the last 80 years – legends such as Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player, Seve Ballesteros, Greg Norman, Nick Faldo, Ernie Els and Tiger Woods. That means something; you can’t help but feel it.
And there are surely few more glorious natural settings for golf than this stretch of heathland surrounded by woodland of pine, oak and birch; the vibrant rhododendrons adding a splash of colour. The heavily wooded landscape has aesthetic and strategic benefits in the sense that it is both easy on the eye and ideal for creating well-defined hole routings.
The Inaugural Prestige Golf Tour event at Wentworth will include:
- Coffee and bacon rolls on arrival
- 18 holes of golf on the West Course at Wentworth
- Course planner per person
- Complementary refreshments at the half way hut
- Three course luncheon with coffee
- Wine with lunch

The price per person for bookings made on or before the 24th December 2008 is just £195.
The price per person after the 24th December is £245
The Competition
The tournament format will be Individual Matchplay off a full handicap. The winner will receive a trophy and the right to defend their crown with complimentary entrance into the 2010 event.
